HOLDING OUR LEADERS TO ACCOUNT

Blair responds to the Commons Liason Committee this morning for the last time before he leaves on June 27th.

Its a wonder why presidents in poor countries hold executive positions, and never respond in person to queries from their legislative bodies during the live parliament sittings, the UK model is definitely one to emulate if we are to be 'open, transparent and accountable'. Why should we elect a leader and be unable to engage him or her in a meaningful manner?
